Vain Weather
May 18, 2007
I've arrived in Edmonton to cold, wet weather. Not good for the bees and not good for my performance. Anyhow, the plan is to head to the Strathcona Farmer's Market tomorrow as long as it is not pouring rain. I have permission to set up outside the market. Having performed at the Edmonton Fringe festival many years ago in the Doris Day Café and The Trout Sisters, I have many fond memories of Old Strathcona. Alberta is Canada's most bountiful producer of honey, so I'm sure there'll be lots of great honey and candles for sale. I have brought along my bee pollen to munch on in the mornings as a preventative measure to succumbing to any travel bugs or viruses. I have also brought along some chocolate truffles made with rhubarb and sweetened with UBC honey for those extra bursts of energy when they are needed most. Please note that the schedule for my piece that has been made public was actually a rough idea of when and where Madame Dolittle will appear. I will try to stick to it as closely as possible, but the weather may throw a spanner into my plans.
